Pareo Fashion Show

A friend of mine (actually my ex husband) is currently planning a fashion show at a social event. He has invited two other close friends of ours. He does hand bags (using coloured burlap fabric), and the other two friends have their specialties - casual men's clothing, and crochet clothing (very chic and sexy!).

My domain is hand-painting fabrics, so I decided to do hand-painted pareos. So far, they are coming along fine, but my biggest problem is accessing the proper fabric and fabric paints. I am currently using muslin and voile fabric, which is working out perfectly. My brands of fabric paints of choice are Jacquard and Pebeo. Both are practically non-existent where I live, I have to order them from overseas.

About where I live, on a tiny island in the Caribbean, called St Lucia (between Martinique and St Vincent).

Back to the fashion show, the pareos are coming out beautifully. Although, I am not finished as yet; they still need to be heat set, washed and sewn and labelled.

I have even decided to include a few wrap around pants (short and ankle length). To date, I have NO IDEA what type of hand-painted design to put on them. When I come to that bridge I will cross it.

Will keep you posted on developments - and a little more about myself later.
